Weight Loss Tips - Celebrity Weight Loss... | Gather
Posted: Thursday, July 1, 2010 by Admin in Labels: Loose WeightFrom Melissa Joan Hart, to Kelly Osbourne, Kim Kardashian and even supermodel Kathy Ireland - celebrities struggle with weight gain from time to time just like the rest of us.
Sure, they may have it easier - they can afford to hire trainers and nutritionists (and babysitters!) to help them find the time and energy to shed those pounds.
Alternately, none of us know what it's like to have photos of our cellulite splashed across the pages of a magazine, to have paparazzi vying to snap shots of the extra 5 pounds we've put on over the holidays. The pressure alone could make a person go crazy.
That's why there's inspiration to be drawn from celeb weight loss success stories. Take a look at Melissa Joan Hart. The former star of "Clarissa Explains It All" and "Sabrina The Teenage Witch" was desperate to lose weight after two pregnancies. She told People Magazine that she gained 55 lbs. during her first baby. Topping the scales at 170 pounds on her tiny 5'2" frame was too much. "I knew I was huge," she said.
Viscous Internet attacks and rumors about her weight gain circulated around Hollywood. Hart, who watched other celebs (like "My Name Is Earl's" Jaime Pressly) get back to fighting weight within just a few weeks of giving birth, was crushed by the gossip and felt overwhelmed.
Still, she knew she had to do something. So she worked hard for 10 months after her first baby, and 14 months after her second to lose the weight. It didn't happen in a matter of weeks for her, but almost a year each time.
She spent time in the gym, but she says she also gave up certain triggers foods like candy, white bread and pasta. Plus, she drew inspiration for other women. The bottom line, she said, was that it wasn't easy to get the weight off, but she had to prove to herself that she could do it.
She still allows herself special treats from time to time, "like chips and guacamole, or frozen yogurt," so she doesn't feel deprived. And she's also trying to be more realistic about her expectations. "I have a wonderful career, an amazing husband and two beautiful sons. I can't really complain about my thighs!"
We can take away from Melissa's experience that every woman is different. Some can lose weight in 6 weeks, some need two years. But the most important thing is to be patient and love our bodies through the process!
